Is this the season you finally try over-the-knee boots? Or maybe a classic leather riding boot is what you've earmarked your shopping funds for this fall. And if the crisp weather isn't enough to get you thinking about boots, the arrival of The Frye Company's store in Georgetown this month should do it. The dramatic, library-like space stocks tons of styles for men and women, and even includes a gallery wall devoted to boots — which is fitting since the company's Campus boot is part of the Smithsonian's collection.

Asides from Frye's heirloom American appeal, here's our shortlist of where to find Chelsea boots, biker boots, and everything in between. Whatever style your heart desires, these 10 Washington shops have you covered, with some of the coolest options for fall boot shopping.
