And just like that, Washington, D.C. now has its own Equinox. Today, Equinox announced plans to acquire the Sports Club/LA properties in New York, Boston, Miami, San Francisco and Washington D.C., as well as the Reebok Sports Club/NY location in New York City from affiliates of Millennium Partners.
According to a press representative for Equinox, that means that, effective immediately, the Sports Club/LA in the West End will now run operationally under Equinox and will begin transitioning to the Equinox brand. There are currently Equinox club locations in Bethesda and Tysons Corner, and the upscale brand is known for personal training, group fitness classes, juice bars, and spa services, as well as little luxuries like Kiehl's products in every locker room.
