The D.C. Council is considering charging the city's 5.75 percent sales tax on services like gyms, health clubs, yoga studios, and barber and beautician services. And the Washington City Paper reports that yogis, studio owners, and personal trainers in Washington are obviously not happy about this development. To protest the proposed sales tax on fitness, Graham King of Roam Fitness is rallying folks to create a "burpee fence" around the Wilson Building at 1350 Pennsylvania NW at noon tomorrow.

Want to get involved but can't make what might be the world's first burpee protest? The group has started a Facebook page and a Change.org petition to help fight the fitness tax.
