20,000 Shoppers Visited Union Market's Thread This Weekend

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The retailers at this weekend's Union Market shopping event Thread told Racked DC that they were busy, especially on Saturday. Shoppers were lined up six deep at Nissa Jewelry's ring table, Typecase Industries had their best market day ever, and spring and summer merch got snapped up at local brand ANTHOM's booth. According to Thread press representatives, approximately 20,000 people visited Thread throughout the market's three-day run this weekend. That's more than the original Thread event, which happened in the fall of 2013.

In case you weren't one of the 20,000, check out our photo gallery, where we snapped photos of Thread merchandise from bags to sandals to artwork, and fun stuff like Mutiny's official corgi mascot and Comet Ping Pong's sweet ping pong table set up.
