Lisa Rowan, owner of Beltway Vintage and partner at cute Brookland shop Analog, daydreamed about finding an old factory or industrial space for her spring lookbook, and thanks to some helpful friends on Twitter, she got exactly that by heading to Navy Yard. Beltway Vintage's newly-released lookbook was shot on location at Building 170, a former electrical substation built in 1919 that's now a part of the Washington Navy Yard Annex Historic District. Site access was made possible through generous collaboration by The JBG Companies, while images were shot by Stacey Vaeth Photography. And Kaarin Vembar of Closet Caucus styled Beltway Vintage's feminine spring frocks to contrast with the industrial backdrop. Although we can understand why the models are outfitted in Hunter boots — Rowan wrote in her blog that "the floor was composed solely of what looked to be baseball infield dirt." She writes: "But there was something magical about the way the light came through the dusty windows, and how the paint over the brick had worn away over the years. The space was beautiful in its own right."
