Welcome to Spring Forward: over the next six weeks, we'll be profiling the best new arrivals and trends at some of our favorite local boutiques.
Photos by R. Lopez, click this Polyvore set to view the piecesIt's another freezing cold day in March, but luckily, today we're looking to Georgetown's Wink for a jolt of spring. This charming boutique is the perfect place to search for bright colors and fun patterns that will definitely shake us out of this winter slump. We asked Wink owner Paige Speyer to share three of her favorite seasonal trends, and she picked out some essential in-store pieces to add to your spring wardrobe. Sophisticated crop tops, anyone? Click through for the trends and styling tricks of the trade from Speyer.
Slouchy trousers: Soon it's going to be sweltering out, and we'll ban all our skinny jeans to the back of the closet. For those who don't want to wear shorts all the time, definitely try out a loose-fitting pant. The Clover Canyon trousers are super comfy — one is silk and the other a lined neoprene. The patterns on these pants are bound to get some attention too. "Just keep it simple on top," Speyer said.
