We've wished and speculated, and now it's happening. WWD reports that Topshop is opening a flagship right here in Washington, D.C. — within the next 12 months. WWD states:
Topshop will open four new units across the U.S., in San Diego, Houston, Atlanta and Washington, over the next 12 months. All, with the exception of D.C., will also have Topman spaces. Topshop owner Sir Philip Green will be investing $40 million to $50 million in building and fitting out all the new stores.
Sorry, fellows, no Topman in D.C. Everyone else, get excited. No word yet on where the D.C. Topshop will be located. This is all part of huge expansive plans for Topshop. The British retailer is opening a 40,000-square-foot flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York City, and 15 freestanding Topshop stores are slated to open in eight countries within the next six months.
