The last Loehmann's in the area just closed this past Sunday, and now we have another discount retailer swooping in to claim the space. According to a press release, a new Stein Mart will open in the former Loehmann's Falls Church location at 7271 Arlington Boulevard on May 15. Stein Mart will stock clothing for men and women, accessories, home décor, linens, and shoes from name-brand designers at up to 60% off.
The Falls Church location is the closest store to Washington, D.C., and will be the third store in the area, with locations already open in Chantilly and Leesburg. The chain is growing, perhaps to fill the void left by the closures of Loehmann's and Filene's Basement. The Falls Church location is one of 10 new stores Stein Mart plans to open nationwide this year.
