Palentine's Day Party at Meeps; Unveiled Bridal Showcase Photos

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

ADAMS MORGAN—Get a jump on Valentine's Day crafts at vintage shop Meeps on February 5, where Racked writer Alison Baitz will be hosting a "Palentine's Day" party from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

In honor of Baitz's On Flora zine, Meeps will be transformed into an indoor garden of flora real and fake alike. Pick up a copy of On Flora and stick around for demos on how to make Valentines-y crafts like fake-flower corsages and paper valentines. There will also be sad love songs on the soundtrack, floral-themed booze, floral-themed pies from pie blogger Emily Hilliard, and treats from Honest Tea and new AdMo spot Sugar Daddy's Bakery.

WEDDING PLANNING—If you are getting ready for your big day and want to get inspired with ideas for wedding decor, menus, and more, the photo gallery for this past weekend's Washingtonian Bride & Groom Unveiled event is definitely worth a perusal. Actually, anyone who enjoys looking at pictures of fancy cakes should take a look. [Washingtonian]
