Bloomers, a local shop focusing on cute and comfy underwear, sleepwear and loungewear, expanded this past July into the District. But alas, the third location of Bloomers is now closed, as reported by PoPville. Racked DC reached out to Bloomers owner Kim Putens about the store closing, and she wrote via email:

Unfortunately, Bloomers' store in Georgetown had to close. We closed due to a lack of business. It was one of worst performing stores I've ever opened in my 14 years as a retail business owner. At the moment, I do not currently have any plans to open another store in DC. I am planning to stay in Northern Virginia.

Putens wasn't sure what exactly the problem was, and she didn't fault the location, saying that there was lots of foot traffic on the block. Want to shop Bloomers? Visit the Northern Virginia stores in either Old Town Alexandria at 924 King Street or 4150 Campbell Avenue in Shirlington.
