So the rumors about Apple pulling out of talks for a new location at CityCenterDC are being confirmed by the Washington Post. The Post reports that according to Hines Interests, Apple withdrew from negotiations last year. Apple and Hines had spent more than a year discussing opening an Apple store along the New York Avenue side of the building. There is no mention in the article as to why Apple dropped out of CityCenterDC.
So what will be in that space if Apple is out? The Post reports that Hines is going back to earlier plan that fills the space with a high-end restaurant or two.
