Wednesday, October 9 may be one of the few times overalls are encouraged attire at the W's rooftop. Leandra Medine, the woman behind the impossibly successful fashion blog Man Repeller, will be in town to celebrate her brand new book, "Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls." Find her at the W Washington, D.C. at 515 15th Street NW from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event is open to the public first-come, first-served with an RSVP to WHappenings@BrandLinkDCRSVP.com.
And the W is getting totally immersed in Medine's world for the book party on Wednesday. Georgetown boutique Hu's Wear just signed on to outfit models with Man Repeller-approved looks from designers like Erdem, Lanvin, Proenza Schouler, Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, and Charlotte Olympia.
In honor of Medine's habit of wearing every bracelet and bangle she owns at once, C. Wonder is hosting an Arm Party accessories bar where guests can Instagram their wrists for a chance to win a $250 C. Wonder gift card. NY Fashion Week veteran DJ Hannah Bronfman will provide the soundtrack, and she's also bringing in a beauty station in honor of Beautified, the new beauty app she co-founded that helps users find and book same-day beauty services. Expect a red lipstick bar by Nectar Skin Bar and a bun bar by IPSA for Hair by Nectar. And in case guests' arms are tired from wearing all those bracelets, Bliss Spa is setting up a massage station.
