The District's first-ever Steven Alan retail shop opened last Friday in Georgetown, tucked away in Cady's Alley off M Street with a neon sign to announce its presence. The Americana-cool NYC-based retailer has been going on an expansion tear lately, opening shops in Portland, Dallas, Chicago, and now Washington.
And since no Steven Alan store is identical, the 670-square-foot Georgetown shop leans more toward high-end women's apparel. Rustic shelving is stocked with Steven Alan's own line and merchandise from brands that have been tough to find in D.C. Options include FRAME Denim, Acne and Rachel Comey boots, Artemis Design Co. smoking slippers, delicate Odette jewelry, Baggu purses, and Clare Vivier pouches, messenger bags, and weekend bags. Meanwhile in the men's section, guys can shop for Steven Alan's signature shirting options, Steven Alan watches, and rough and tough Filson bags. And the shop even sells American-made jam and cedar candles. Take a tour after the jump.
