Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Racked DC is excited to be joining the Racked family of sites, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Philly and Vegas—which is also launching today.
A little about me: My name is Adele Chapin. I'm a native of Fairfax, Virginia, a current resident of the Atlas District, and a proud Washingtonian. My writing has been published in Eater DC, Curbed DC, BizBash Washington, Refinery29 DC, and the Washington Post Magazine. Trend-spotting is a major hobby for me, and I have a pile of capes, sneaker wedges, and ear cuffs to prove it.
Most importantly, I am thrilled to see D.C. recognized as a place where global brands set up outposts, and totally unique, creative boutiques put us on the map as a shopping destination. I can't wait to hear from you about everything from a new shop down the street to the perfect pair of jeans you found. From newsy to wacky, drop us a line at dc@racked.com, follow us on Twitter at @RackedDC, and let's do this thing.
