Politics & Prose Bookstore Eyeing Georgetown Expansion

Could beloved Cleveland Park independent bookstore Politics & Prose add a second location in Georgetown? Politics & Prose co-owner Bradley Graham told the Washingtonian that they are looking at the now-vacant Georgetown Theater building on Wisconsin Avenue. Neighbors and Georgetown business owners have been brainstorming how to revitalize the property for years.

While the location isn't a sure thing — an offer from Politics & Prose is pending — the proposed bookstore has the support of community members and would benefit from nearby Georgetown University and George Washington University. If Politics & Prose does branch out to Georgetown, the new shop will have what made the first one so popular: author talks, a coffeehouse, and plenty of community spirit.
