Welcome to Editor's Picks, a weekly round-up of what we're buying (or at least stalking) this week.
The 2 Bandits Peakin Ring, $78
Racked SF editor Kristen Philipkoski: Now that the temps are finally starting to get warm in San Francisco, I'm feeling minimalistic about clothing and especially jewelry. I want easy pieces that still make a statement. The Peakin Ring from The 2 Bandits is exactly what I'm talking about. The arrowhead shape transforms this little strip of silver into something decidedly unboring, and it even makes your finger look longer, which is a bonus for my short little digits.
Pure Matte lipstick in Peloponnese, $32 from NARS
Racked Chicago associate editor Zara Hussaini: NARS hails Peloponnese, the newest shade in its Pure Matte lipstick line, as a "ginger pink," but the color and finish of it remind me of champagne. It's still matte but somehow sparkly at the same time, which really softens the whole look. It's a MLBB (that's 'my lips but better') shade, the kind that'll subtly perk up your entire face.
No. 215 Lunch Tote, $65, by Artifacts Bags Co. at Etsy
Racked National associate editor Kenzie Bryant: $65 is a lot to pay for a lunch bag. Especially if it's intended to replace plastic bags, which cost me about zero dollars on average. But for the environment, and for US of A, and for the great state of Nebraska, and for my take-out-addicted wallet, and for my wardrobe, I will pay $65 for this Made in America lunch tote crafted at Artifacts Bags Co., the handmade leather and canvas goods company out of Omaha. Also, I just couldn't rationalize this one in the end.
Miista Ivy Boot, $189 at Article&
Racked NY Associate Editor Nicola Fumo: Every fall, I somehow introduce yet another pair of black ankle boots to my mostly-black fall wardrobe. This year, I vow to break it up with these dark floral (but floral nonetheless!) booties by Miista.
The heel is just high enough to elevate my 5'3" stature while still completely reasonable for conquering New York City sidewalks. The hit of print at the feet is unexpected, but not over the top, and will pair well with a myriad of dark hues, should I conquer the black clothing habit, as well.
