In honor of Small Business Saturday, President Barack Obama took Sasha and Malia to Politics & Prose bookstore, and they did some serious shopping. The Washington Post has a list of all 21 books the Obamas purchased, which include classics by Carson McCullers, E.L. Doctorow, and Willa Cather, and children's books like "Harold and the Purple Crayon." Personally, we want to hear Obama's impressions of "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed.
Over the past three years, the Obamas have made a tradition of shopping at local bookstores on Small Business Saturday, visiting Kramerbooks and One More Page Books. Politics & Prose wrote on their Facebook page: "We are thrilled and honored that President Obama came by our store today with daughter Malia and Sasha to do some Christmas Shopping. Thank you, Mr. President, for thinking #indiefirst this #ShopSmall Business Saturday!"
Meanwhile, Attorney General Eric Holder visited Union Market on Saturday for Small Business Saturday, where he shopped at Salt & Sundry.
