This past summer, Caramel closed on U Street. But newsflash! It's not really over. Owner Sarah Watkins announced this week that the clothing boutique will officially reopen on January 1. Watkins told Racked DC:
We had been looking for a new tenant to take over the space, but when they didn't materialize we felt the only right thing to do was to reopen for business. We love the U Street community and are very pleased to be back in business! In addition to our unique clothing lines by local and independent designers for men and women, we are excited to introduce a few new lines for children as well. Look for these styles in our window and come in to browse what we have in the store this spring.
Caramel's new business hours will be Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Watkins says customers can schedule times to stop by Caramel during non-business hours by emailing email@example.com and they will do their best to accommodate preferred times and dates. Also on the docket for 2014 at Caramel, find art openings in February and collaborations with artists throughout the year, as well as community fundraisers.
