Just two weeks after the news that Whole Foods signed a lease at Navy Yard, the Washington Post reports that a Whole Foods will open a 39,000-square-foot store on H Street NE between 6th and 7th streets, where the Murry's store is currently located. The Whole Foods will be in the basement of an apartment development, and is slated to open in the fall of 2016. This confirms rumors from earlier this year about a Whole Foods venturing to H Street NE.
The Post also reveals that Whole Foods is interested in the Walter Reed development site. In addition to all the D.C. news, Whole Foods is digging in further north in Maryland, with stores already in the works for Prince George's County and Howard County.
