Bethesda Row's new Icebreaker store opened to the public this morning with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. The New Zealand-based merino wool activewear brand's Bethesda store had been in the works for many months, and the new shop is a TouchLab retail store, where customers can learn about the making of the product.
Why merino wool? According to Icebreaker's website, the wool is soft and non-itchy, keeps wearers warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and is naturally odor-resistant. Their website states that "you can run a marathon and still smell as sweet as if you've spent the day on the sofa." Anyone want to try that out and report back? Customers who visit the new Bethesda shop can enter to win $1000 worth of Icebreaker products, the company writes on their Facebook page.
