This could be a game-changer for holiday shopping in D.C. Hip artisan food and goods destination Union Market in Northeast just announced that the market's second floor event space will open on November 29 through December 1 for Thread, a retail event with more than 30 brands specializing in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, art, and home decor.
So who is going to be there? Some friendly faces and new lines to peruse. Washington-based online retailer ANTHOM will set up a shop for their unique but wearable indie clothes and accessories. Menswear collective Mutiny and Saint Clair Jewelry will represent D.C. too.
Out-of-town brands include Lynchburg, Virginia-based leather goods specialist Moore and Giles, boho bags and accessories from Mercado Global, Richmond-based Shockoe Denim, New York-based menswear designer Earnest Alexander, and Brooklyn's Rebecca Atwood, who sells dreamy, hand-painted pillows. Thread will also host art installations and art for sale. And since this is a food mecca, expect plenty of snacks and drink options from Union Market vendors.
