DIY projects are fun, but the bill for those supplies can be a buzzkill. That's why SCRAP DC's brand new Brookland shop might be an intriguing option for crafters and DIY-ers. The shop opens today at noon, per PoPville, and it is stocked with affordable office and arts materials. SCRAP DC's website puts it this way: "You can think of us as a thrift shop for artists, crafters, teachers, parents, DIY-ers, and everyone who loves to create."
Hours for the shop will be Wednesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And today SCRAP DC is throwing a grand opening housewarming party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with music, food, drinks, and raffles. For $20, buy a SCRAP tote bag and fill it to the brim with materials or try out an activity. Always wanted to make yarn pom-poms? Today is the day.
