Discount Alert: Marshalls Opens Downtown October 30

The long-shuttered Filene's Basement locations in Washington are slowly being repopulated by new discount department stores. Last week, T.J. Maxx moved into the vacant Filene's Basement space in Friendship Heights, and this week, Marshalls will open its doors on October 30th in the former Filene's location at the National Press Club at 14th and F Streets NW, according to PoPville. The downtown Marshalls' grand opening event kicks off at 8 a.m. that morning and ends at 10 p.m.

This will be the second Marshalls store in the District. The other D.C. location for the discount department store chain is in the DC USA shopping complex in Columbia Heights.
