The prices for Internet-based home try-on glasses are pretty darn amazing, but what about those of us who are really indecisive and want to try on 30 pairs of glasses in one day? If that describes your glasses shopping style, Tortoise & Blonde's Urban Outfitters pop-up needs to be on your agenda. Today and tomorrow, the NYC-based eyewear company is taking over the Urban Outfitters store in Georgetown.
The brand is hitting D.C. as part of their UO pop-up shop fall tour, with stops in Pennyslvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and NYC. Prices start at just $97, with made-in-Italy styles priced at $137. But customers who grab a flier at the UO pop-up shop get $10 off their purchases.
Tortoise & Blonde picked D.C. and the Georgetown shop in particular because of the strength of Internet orders. The company currently has a permanent pop-up shop in the Urban Outfitters store at 628 Broadway in New York City, and the plan is to possibly expand that model to other Urban Outfitters. And could that include Georgetown? "We could definitely do some damage here," Tortoise & Blonde's Chief Operations Officer Evan Weisfeld said.
