Meet Misook Issa, trainer extraordinare at Reformation Fitness in Shaw and the creator of Core Blast, a fifty-minute blast to your abs with almost all the exercises done on the stability ball. And Issa is living proof that Core Blast totally works. Misook began her fitness career while attending the University of Maryland and attained a BS in Kinesiology. While at school, she was introduced to her first passion, Sport Aerobics, which combines elements of fitness and athleticism with dance moves. After graduating, Misook began training for her first fitness show. Misook won third place but didn't stop there. She trained even harder, followed strict nutritional guidelines, and won first place in the 2004 Miss Fitness America Redondo Beach, CA.
Misook holds numerous fitness certifications such as The National Academy of Sports Medicine, CrossFit Level 1, Spinning, Balance Body Pilates, and the list goes on and on. She's devoted over 16 years of teaching, living, and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Her classes are high energy, challenging, safe, fun, and most importantly, help students achieve their fitness goals. —Kate Friedman
