After opening locations in Columbia Heights and Friendship Heights, shoe chain DSW is planning to open a third D.C. store in Georgetown this spring. According to a DSW representative, the 22,000-square-foot store is slated to open in April at the Shops at Georgetown Park.
"D.C. is an important market for us," said Christina Cheng, senior director of investor relations for DSW. And according to Cheng, the demographics in Georgetown made sense as the next District of Columbia location for DSW — this is a neighborhood full of shoe lovers. The new store will be similar in size to other locations in Washington and have the same shoe brands, including Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, and Cole Haan. While the selection of men's and women's dress, athletic, and casual shoes will have a lot of similarity between the D.C. DSW stores, the merchandise in Georgetown will lean a bit toward the "fashion forward" side.
The exact opening date is forthcoming, as DSW joins HomeGoods and T.J.Maxx at the Shops at Georgetown Park for a bargain shopping trifecta.
